Het Japanse bedrijf Lemnos is vernoemd naar het Griekse eiland Lemnos . In de oude mythologie is het de thuisbasis van de god Hephaistos, de god van alle ambachtslieden. Het bedrijf dateert reeds van 1947, gespecialiseerd in het gieten van brons voor boeddhistische altaren. Maatwerk en vakmanschap leidden uiteindelijk tot het vervaardigen van designklokken.
Een klok is niet alleen om ons de tijd te vertellen, het vormt mede de ruimte. Niet modieus maar ingetogen en stijlvol.
Ontwerper: Akira Yamamoto
Akira Yamamoto was born in Tokyo in 1963. After graduating from the Department of Industrial Design at Chiba University in 1987, he worked at Q Designers, moved to Italy and studied under Professor G. DeFerrari of Industrial Design at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Faculty of Architecture. Upon returning to Japan in 1995, Akira Yamamoto established the Akira Yamamoto Design Office. In addition to designing clocks, lighting fixtures, and kitchenware, he also designs machine tools. Since 1999, he has primarily collaborated with Riki Watanabe in the field of product design, and since Watanabe's passing, Yamamoto has been responsible for guiding the design direction of the RIKI brand.
