Pierre Charpin
Pierre Charpin, born in 1962 in Saint-Mandé (Paris), began his dedication to furniture and object design in the early 1990s. In 2004, he won a competition for designing a water carafe for the Société Anonyme de Gestion des Eaux de Paris (Paris Water Authority), resulting in the “Eau de Paris” carafe. The “Triplo” vase, produced by Venini, appeared in the selection for the Compasso d’Oro 2005.
He was named the creator of the year by the Paris Furniture Fair in 2005. Charpin has had several solo exhibitions, and some of his pieces are part of the collections at FNAC (National Foundation for Contemporary Art) of the Georges Pompidou Center and the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris.
In 2017, he was elected Designer of the Year by M&O (Maison&Objet).
