Richard Hutten
Richard Hutten (1967). Influential Dutch designer since founding his own studio in 1991. One of the key figures behind Droog Design’s success from 1993 onwards. Contemporary of Piet Hein Eek and Hella Jongerius. Playfulness is an important pillar of culture for him. His designs often refer to Homo Ludens. He works in both furniture design and interior design. In 2025, he works for companies in 16 countries. His works are displayed in countless museums around the world. In Asia, Hutten even has cult status. Thoughtful simplicity and humor are recurring features in his designs. Since 2008, he has also been creative director at Gispen. The list of international awards is too long to mention here.
