Yota Tsunoda
Yota Tsunoda was born in Sendai in 1979. In 2003, he moved to England and gained experience working with Shin & Tomoko Azumi and Ross Lovegrove. In 2007, he completed the Royal College of Art (RCA) Department of Design Products under Ron Arad and Sir Kenneth Grange as a scholarship student of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Study Program for Upcoming Artists. After returning to Japan in 2008, he worked as a product designer for MUJI before founding YOTA KAKUDA DESIGN in 2011. He exhibited his designs both domestically and internationally. In 2016, he became the first Japanese person selected as a finalist for the HUBLOT DESIGN PRIZE. He has received awards such as ELLE DECOR Young Japanese Design Talent, Good Design Award, and German iF Design Award.
