De Jacky is een archetypisch kinderstoeltje met een kloeke uitstraling: stevig en bestand tegen dagelijks gebruik. De leuning, met een gespitst oor, nodigt uit om jassen of tasjes aan te hangen, terwijl het gekleurde deksel in de zitting ruimte biedt voor mutsen, wanten en andere kleine spullen. Gemaakt van verantwoorde materialen en volledig gemonteerd geleverd, zonder montagebeslag of instructies. Momenteel in productie.
Ontwerper: Ann Maes
Ann Maes began her career as an industrial designer in the Netherlands. In 1980, she founded her own agency, Ann Maes Design (AMD), based in Bergeijk. From her education to her many years of practice, her work has been characterized by a clear vision: minimalism, modernism, and functionality form the basis. In her own words: “I have always been a minimalist, a modernist, and a functionalist, but also a strong proponent of sustainable thinking and doing. ‘Less always produces more’ is my motto.” Maes never sees design as a purely aesthetic task, but as a social responsibility. For her, innovation and improvement are not buzzwords, but criteria for justifying the use of energy and materials. “Things that are relevant and needed are those I devote time to.”

The Jacky is an archetypal children’s chair with a solid, robust presence — standing firmly and built to withstand daily use. Its backrest, shaped like a pointed ear, invites hanging coats or bags, while the colored lid on the seat conceals storage for hats, gloves, and other small items. Made from responsible materials and delivered fully assembled, it requires no assembly fittings or instructions. Currently in production.
