Het Japanse bedrijf Lemnos is vernoemd naar het Griekse eiland Lemnos . In de oude mythologie is het de thuisbasis van de god Hephaistos, de god van alle ambachtslieden. Het bedrijf dateert reeds van 1947, gespecialiseerd in het gieten van brons voor boeddhistische altaren. Maatwerk en vakmanschap leidden uiteindelijk tot het vervaardigen van designklokken.
Een klok is niet alleen om ons de tijd te vertellen, het vormt mede de ruimte. Niet modieus maar ingetogen en stijlvol.
Ontwerper: Takenobu Igarashi
Takenobu Igarashi is a sculptor, graphic artist, and product designer. He is known for his work, including the calendar for the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), and has created numerous public art installations. Additionally, he holds the position of Emeritus Professor at Tama Art University in Japan.

Lemnos Earth Table Black 8 is an original design dating back to 1987. The idea stemmed from the designer’s realization that there were no spherical clocks until then. The Earth is comprised of 70% water and 30% land. The dial covers 30% of the design, the rest is made of cast aluminum. As always, Lemnos pays great attention to perfect finishing. There are two dials available, featuring a minimalist and a more detailed design (4 or 8 digits). It features a continuous second hand, gliding smoothly. Non-Tick.
