Pott 33 Set 4pcs

Discription

Pott was founded in 1904 by Carl Hugo Pott in Solingen, focusing on simplicity and functionality. The brand gained recognition in 1937 at the World Expo in Paris.

Pott knives are crafted with the utmost care and precision. The use of Molybdenum-Vanadium steel ensures increased hardness and durability. The forging process follows traditional methods, where the steel is heated to 1050°C and then slowly cooled to achieve a perfect balance of hardness and elasticity. The blue-polishing process further densifies the surface, enhancing rust resistance. Additionally, fine brushing gives the knives an elegant finish.

Each knife features a hollow handle filled with quartz sand, providing perfect weight distribution and balance. The micro-serration guarantees exceptional sharpness and long-lasting performance.

Carl Pott’s focus on ergonomics, known as ‘spoonery,’ led to innovative designs that influenced renowned designers like Wagenfeld and Hoffmann. Today, Pott remains a leader in design and craftsmanship, with over 700 design awards and global exhibitions.

Ontwerper: Carl Pott

Carl Pott (1906–1985) transformed his father’s workshop into a hub of innovative craftsmanship. Under his leadership, cutlery was created that excelled in both ergonomics and precision. His concept of "spoonery" emphasized perfection in balance and usability, with spoons crafted in over 30 steps and knives made from molybdenum-vanadium steel with quartz-sand handles for optimal balance. In addition to his own designs, Pott brought to life works by modernists like Hermann Gretsch and Josef Hoffmann, leaving a lasting mark on design history.

Information

Pott 33 Set 4-pcs consist of a dinner-spoon, dinner-fork, dinner-knife  and a coffeespoon. Pott 33 is one of Carl Pott’s last designs and still one of the most successful in the Pott cutlery range. At the time of its creation in 1975, the five prongs of the fork were a complete novelty. The fork was widened in this way to make it easier to pick up sauces and vegetables such as peas. The solid cutlery is given a special accent by the fine notch at the end of the handle.
