Pott was founded in 1904 by Carl Hugo Pott in Solingen, focusing on simplicity and functionality. The brand gained recognition in 1937 at the World Expo in Paris.
Pott knives are crafted with the utmost care and precision. The use of Molybdenum-Vanadium steel ensures increased hardness and durability. The forging process follows traditional methods, where the steel is heated to 1050°C and then slowly cooled to achieve a perfect balance of hardness and elasticity. The blue-polishing process further densifies the surface, enhancing rust resistance. Additionally, fine brushing gives the knives an elegant finish.
Each knife features a hollow handle filled with quartz sand, providing perfect weight distribution and balance. The micro-serration guarantees exceptional sharpness and long-lasting performance.
Carl Pott’s focus on ergonomics, known as ‘spoonery,’ led to innovative designs that influenced renowned designers like Wagenfeld and Hoffmann. Today, Pott remains a leader in design and craftsmanship, with over 700 design awards and global exhibitions.
