Richard Sapper, born in Munich in 1932 and passed away in 2015, was one of the greatest industrial designers of the last century. He studied philosophy, anatomy, graphics, engineering, and economics. A ten-time winner of the Compasso d'Oro, he is particularly known for the Tizio lamp. Sapper had a fondness for complex industrial technical designs and preferred to give moving parts a red accent, as evident in the Tizio and Plico.
