De Strips Rack is een wandkapstok van Jeroen Wand, opgebouwd uit lange repen essenhout die onder druk tot een organische vorm zijn samengebracht. De repen vormen twee golvende flanken met een subtiel grafisch lijnenspel, verbonden door een dragende kern van hetzelfde hout. Het resultaat is een sculpturale kapstok die ambacht en constructie zichtbaar maakt – licht, ritmisch en functioneel tegelijk. Het werk van Jeroen Wand onderzoekt de grens tussen ambacht en experiment: materialen worden niet verhuld, maar juist opengelegd in hun pure, fysieke vorm.

Jeroen Wand explores the raw, unpolished side of design. Not the neat or predictable, but the unexpected and experimental takes shape in his work. Rather than following established standards of beauty, the studio actively seeks alternatives — designs that provoke and surprise. By combining or processing traditional materials and techniques in unconventional ways, new production methods emerge, such as paper lamination or casting with rotating plaster molds. In Wand’s approach, form and function are directly shaped by the making process itself. Jeroen Wand (born 1985) studied product design in Maastricht and earned his master’s degree from the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. He lives and works in Eindhoven.

Strips Rack by Jeroen Wand is a wall-mounted coat rack made from long strips of ash wood, pressed together into an organic, sculptural form. The strips create two flowing flanks with a refined graphic rhythm, joined by a central ash support. The result is a piece that reveals its construction: light, tactile, and functional, balancing craft and structure in a single gesture. Jeroen Wand’s work explores the intersection of craft and experimentation – materials are not hidden but shown in their most direct and physical expression.
