De Alessi Nuovo Milano 16 Bestekset is een nieuwe Alessi voordeelcassette (2023). Het is een monobloc bestekset voor 4 personen. Monobloc wil zeggen dat de messen uit 1 stuk zijn gemaakt. Dit maakt ze zwaarder maar veel eenvoudiger te produceren dan een holheft-versie. Nuovo Milano is nog altijd een moderne klassieker door zijn fijne balans en fraaie rondingen. Ontworoen in de jaren 80 door de italiaanse vormgever Ettore Sottsass
Ontwerper: Ettore Sottsass
Ettore Sottsass was born in 1917 in Innsbruck as the son of an architect. He became a prominent architect and designer, graduating in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1939. He established his own studio in Milan in 1947. Sottsass won his first Compasso D'Oro in 1959 for Olivetti's computer mainframe Elea 9003. Over the years, he earned three more, with the last one in 1989 for the "Nuova Milano" cutlery, designed for Alessi. He made a significant impact on the design world with the Memphis movement, involving numerous other masters. Ettore Sottsass passed away in December 2007. De Alessi Nuovo Milano 16 delige Bestekcssette bestaat uit 6 koffielepels van 12,5 cm lengte en vier tafelvorken en lepels van 19,5 cm lengte. De 6 messen zijn in dit geval monobloc en hebben een lengte van 23 cm. Roestvrijstaal gepolijst (glans).
